Very simply a tattoo is really a puncture wound made in your skin which is filled up with ink. Although done differently today in comparison to way back when the technique is still somewhat similar. Today, tattoo artist start using a tattoo gun which has a number of needles that penetrate skin and delivery ink to the skin. Tattoos last many years just because that the ink is positioned deeply into the skin. The top layer of skins is named the epidermis in fact it is constantly shedding and being reproduced. Mark A Cella on Consumerism What is Consumerism…? Taking a Look at How Americans Are Overspent, in Debt and Broke Because They’re Manipulated Through Advertising.

The issue of American consumerism is being brought up more and more these days in light of the current financial crisis that the US is having.

But what is consumerism? Many people aren’t even really sure what consumerism really is. Consumerism can be defined in two ways. In economic terms, consumerism is the practice of people buying goods beyond the things that they need to survive.

For example, someone that buys wine to drink but has water or milk at home is engaging in consumerism because he or she doesn’t need the wine to drink but is buying just because he or she wants it and has the disposable income to purchase it.

Consumerism can also be defined as the practice of equating self worth and societal status with the purchase of goods and services.

What is consumerism in one country might not be the same as what is considered consumerism in another country based on the scarcity or abundance of resources in that particular country.

Consumerism Psychologically Thwarted on Americans

US culture is almost 100% consumerist because many Americans engage in consumerism either by purchasing things that they don’t need to survive or by finding their own self worth or judging others by what they purchase and how much they consume.

Consumerism is a by product of unchecked capitalism and the current US economic crisis is a good example of what happens when unrestricted capitalism and unchecked consumerism are allowed to flourish in a society.

It’s the job of corporations and businesses to sell their products to consumers by any means necessary, which usually means advertising. Advertising creates the idea that a person’s worth or happiness is determined by what they own and how much they own.

The best example to illustrate this mode of thinking is the sale of lipsticks. Studies have shown that the worse off people are financially the higher the sales of lipsticks are.

Why? Because women who are feeling bad about their economic situations and feeling their self worth take a dive when they lack the purchasing power to purchase bigger items will spend anywhere from $10 to $30 on a lipstick as a way to cheer themselves up.

Shopping has been promoted as a cure for women’s depression for years because in US culture an individual’s self worth, male or female, is tied to the possessions that they own.

Consumerism Destined to Fail

When that advertising created myth becomes the reality of a culture, the way it has in the US, economic disaster is sure to follow.

No economic system can survive when people purchase items that they can’t afford using credit and not worrying about they are going to pay for those purchases.

In the US consumers aren’t taught to spend their money responsibly, they are actually encouraged to live way beyond their means.

Unfortunately, many people do just that because they don’t know how to handle their money.

Predatory businesses that prey on unwary customers who are desperate to buy a little self-esteem or a little more social status are partly to blame for the economic downfall of the US but the consumers bears some of the responsibility, too.

It’s a consumer’s duty to be aware of his or her own financial situation and to not give in to the persuasive attempts of businesses to convince them to buy more stuff.

It can be tough to resist slick ads created by ad companies that are trained in the art of manipulation and psychological warfare but people need to realize that they are more than just consumers if they are going to find a way to survive the current economic crisis without falling into complete financial disaster as a result.

[I:http://lilianavinagre.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DanaBurnett4.jpg]Dance competitions are in full swing and although our young performers are ecstatic and anxious for their turn in the spotlight, dance moms and dads are busy pulling our hair out. Just about every competition brings the frantic rehearsal schedules and the continual question of what to bring to the performance, there are instances that you look like you are preparing for a excursion across the country and always turn out forgetting things that were important. Follow this advice to make sure that you have exactly what your kid requires the day of the competition.

Basic Needs: Collect the obvious items first, as these are the pieces that you are in all likelihood to forget about as you work on the smaller details. The dance competition basics change from dance studio to dance studio, but these are the standard needs.

Costumes

Dance Tights (extras of each color needed)

Tap, Ballet, or Jazz Shoes for Performances

Jewelry (only if part of costume)

Advanced: These are typically the pieces that you obsess about and still forget. As your dancer progresses, the list will grow, but this will get you started.

Hair Brush and Comb

Extra Bobby Pins

Extra Hair Nets

Hair Spray

Hair Gel

Extra Elastic Hair Bands

Stage Cosmetics

Mom or Dad Necessities: These are the items that will assist you through the stress filled day. I highly recommend these objects to be included in any dance parent’s strategy.

Coloring Books and Crayons-Wonderful for occupying small dancers between shows

Bandages- Clear bandages for blisters

Snack food items for you and your child

Bottled water for your dancer (safe drink when wearing costumes)

Baby Wipes-Great to fix make-up smears and to wash little hands after snacks

Needle and Thread for quick costume repairs

Safety Pins for even quicker costume fixes

Oversized T-Shirt for little dancers-Changing rooms are crowded and often it is simpler to change little dancers under a large T-Shirt.

Nail Clippers

Camera-almost all competitions have policies about photography, but you’ll want a few shots backstage.

Try to organize these things into separate bags; doing this will keep you from having to rumage through so many items to locate what you need. Consider using one bag for hair and cosmetic items, another bag for amusements and snacks, and a garment bag for costumes.

On the day of the dance competition, remember to bring the essential item: Patience. Your dancer will be energized, but that can quickly change to nerves. Be patient and try to remember that these performances are meant to be for your child’s enjoyment, don’t let your anxiety level spoil it. Be reassuring and cheer your child on, hopefully you’ll have to pack for this adventure many times!

Dexter is a caring brother, a loving husband and father, and a highly skilled forensic blood spatter analyst for the Miami Police Department. Dexter is also a serial killer. Not just any run-of-the-mill serial killer, either. In the world of serial killers, Dexter is near the top of the food chain – if the number of kills is used as the standard of measure.

In the wildly popular Showtime TV series, Dexter, we’re never made privy to the exact number of people Dexter has killed, but we are shown his very unusual trophy cases. A glance at those trophies makes it clear that Dexter is a much more accomplished serial killer than the likes of serial killers Ted Bundy, David Berkowitz and Kenneth Bianchi. But being at the top of the serial killer heap doesn’t slow Dexter down at all. He continuously locates, selects and stalks new prey with chilling precision and skill.

What makes Dexter such an unusual serial killer isn’t his amazing number of successful kills. A ‘successful kill’ being one that Dexter doesn’t get caught for committing. What makes Dexter a unique serial killer is that so many people – the TV show’s growing number of viewers – love him! It’s not just the show’s ratings that let us know how popular Dexter is, either. Online one can purchase all manner of Dexter paraphernalia – including the official Dexter killing uniform. Dexter always wears the same outfit when he is about his gruesome business.

If you think you can’t watch and enjoy a TV series about a serial killer, you might want to open yourself to new vistas and give Dexter a try. This is a good year to start your addiction. John Lithgow is appearing prominently in all 12 episodes this season as a successful serial killer who has spent 30 years repeating the same three murders all over the country. Lithgow is fantastic in this role as an almost schizophrenic serial killer – one minute he’s all smiles and love and religion, the next he’s a terrifying brute of a killer.

If you’d like to get caught up to Dexter so that you understand the characters and the dynamics – plus what motivates Dexter to be a serial killer – but you don’t want to rent and watch all the previous season DVDs, I’d suggest watching only season 1 and then the early season 4 episodes. Season 1 of Dexter is likely available at the place where you rent DVDs.

Original episodes of Dexter air on Showtime on Sunday nights at 9. Then Showtime will air the current episode several times during the following week.

At the same time, Clark and Chloe discover that Bart is missing and it doesn’t take them long to figure out what Lex has in mind for the young hero. Clark rushes off to save Bart while Chloe meets with Queen to fill him in on Luthor’s plot.

However, as she is viewing the blueprints of the Luthor facility she realizes that part of the building is obviously built to contain meteor rock, which is, of course, Kryptonite; deadly to Clark. Queen and his team move in to rescue both Bart and Clark while also managing to destroy the Luthor facility.

Finally, Clark sees the validity of the work that the newly formed team, soon to be named the Justice League, is committed to accomplishing. Queen asks him to join and he lets the team know that he wants to; however, he explains that he must first clean up the mess he made by releasing criminals from the Phantom Zone. Queen encourages him not to wait too long as information retrieved by Cyborg indicates that Luthor is setting up 33.1 facilities all over the world, aimed at dissecting more people with unusual powers.

This episode obviously opens the door for more episodes involving the JLA or even for an eventual spin-off series. At this point that is anyone’s guess. But even it nothing further were to come of the Justice League, the audience was treated to another piece of the Superman saga; an important piece, at that. The episode also drew the final line in the sand between Clark and Lex, setting the stage for the intensity of this well-known rivalry.

Both Michael Rosenbaum and Tom Welling have grown immeasurably as actors over the course of Smallville’s history. Both of these outstanding actors can speak volumes with a single set of their lips, a look in their eyes, or a clinch of their hands. Gone now is that once wistful expression that they used to get when the audience knew they wished they could return to earlier, happier times as friends.

Going on vacation to a cruise may happen once and those memories will last a lifetime. It’s not about having those memories kept at the back of your head alone; it’s about having them placed onto something for your eyes to behold.

35 mm cameras or disposable ones may not be to your advantage. They give you unlikely results. “Point and shoot” digital cameras are nice investments. You won’t have to wait for your photos to be developed before seeing them. Internet photo sharing to your network is uncomplicated when you have digital cameras. Digital cameras not only take photos because they have video features as well. You can take hundreds of pictures so bring with you an extra memory card.

You can take photos without having you behind the camera. Kids that are old enough to take pictures can do so. Younger kids can have fun taking pictures by giving them disposable ones. If you are taking photos while having fun in the water, opt to use waterproof disposable cameras.

You won’t have to be self-conscious in taking photos because everyone in the ship are tourists, too like you. Be comfortable asking another tourist to take pictures of you and your family. Take amazingly happy, unguarded shots of your family during the cruise. Photos of your family in them are more spectacular than mountain or ocean views.

A cruise is a perfect opportunity for journal-writing. It may take some amount of labor documenting your photos but eventually you will find the pleasure of looking at them again in the coming years.

Memoirs from the cruise like ticket stubs and other souvenir items shouldn’t be just left behind. Even the smallest stuff can provide lasting memories.

Memories can be kept by making scrapbooks. Ticket stubs, tiny cruise memorabilia and photos may be included in each page. Scrapbooks provide summaries of your exciting trips that you can gaze upon once again in the coming years.

A cruise is definitely a relaxing and adventurous way to give yourself a break. You may not require it a lot but your memories are taken care of when you have pictures, souvenirs, and journals while going about that exciting cruise.

Quick tagline for Dexter: The Show is about a serial killer named Dexter who strangely enough is a Forensic Detective working for the Miami Police and although he has urges to kill people decides only to kill people who actually deserve it who the cops haven’t caught such as other killers and evil people. After chopping up their bodies he dumps them in the ocean. The first season is about another serial killer stalking the streets who discovers about Dexter and plays a cat-and-mouse game with him, this is only the main story but there is so much else that goes on in each different episode that you never get bored for a second. In the second season the police find Dexter’s “Burial Ground” under water and pull out 18 bodies and thus begin a search for the notorious serial killer who they call “The Bay Harbor Butcher” unbeknownst to them he sitting right in their midst. Both seasons are told mostly through Dexter’s point of view with voice over thus making it all the more interesting as you are actually in the mind of a killer. The catch is that you are going to love this killer because he is the good guy.

Beautiful, Perfect, Artful, Classy, Prestigious, Graphic, these are just a view words that came to mind the very first time I set eyes on an episode of Dexter it was the first episode of the first season, and to say it was love at first site would be the understatement of a lifetime.

Overall I would recommend Dexter to anybody and everybody even if you are a sensitive viewer because I am in love with this show and want everybody else to know what I’m talking about when I say it is the show I have been dreaming about my entire life and is something that I hope goes on forever. I want to grow old with this show and I can only hope that it doesn’t end anytime in the near future. The third season comes out this September and I am going to be watching each episode as they air.

I know you might be thinking that I must be a strange guy for liking a show like this but trust me watch one episode and you won’t be calling anybody who watches this show strange.

This is definitely not going to be my last review on Dexter and I hope by the next time you will also be writing reviews on this great, great, great, show.
